Regulator Ofcom claims that 01885 is the area code for Pencombe and that Bromyard uses the area code 01886 instead. However, this contradicts actual usage of the neighbouring 01885 and 01886 area codes. Telephone operators alerted Ofcom to this issue when area code names were reviewed 2003, but the error was never corrected.
